City scapes
So it's no secret that I'm a "Vaalie" by birth right, growing up in the rat race of the Jozi suburbs. But here's a little tribute to the city that stole my heart one night while I was searching my way down the N2 to meet some new-found friends at the Great Gateway. It was dark and I was running late and wondering how far I still had to go when suddenly, as if from nowhere, millions of lights appeared on the hill and the whole landscape was filled with a bright golden light. Up and down the hills and up again these little lights stretched into non-exisistance... and that was the moment I realized, after just two weeks, I was in love with Durban!
The view from my bedroom window
Pigeons on the Esplanade
North Beach, like everyone knows it
Sunrise on a winter's morning
Sunset and lights an purple skies
I do not know how long this whirlwind romance with the city by the sea will last for, but for now my heart is happy and my days are dreams...

More shoes
Garance Dore is my all time favourite blogger. I'm charmed by her colourful stories accompanied by beautiful photographs - a pleasure every time. Last week she did a piece on Tabitha Simmons and her beautiful shoes. I just had to share:
Each pair is named after one of her friends. Aren't they just breathtaking?

Obsession
I don't think of myself as an obsessive person, but i must admit that there is a shape that i have been in love with since I can remember... I was probably drawing hearts way before I drew squares or circles or before I could even write or read. Somehow hearts just seam to pop up all around me - in clouds and scrunched up papers, stones and fallen leaves - you get the point. So I thought I'd share some of my favourite HEARTS in and around my home...
Wire hearts on my wall - a birthday present from my brother.
An almost forgotten piece of chiken wire turned into my fav shape now decorates my wall.
Another collection of love.
A heart shaped rock I picked up on holiday in Jan.

Blogging about
So I found this cute blog while lazily blogging about... It's cute and quite soppy, but good for keeping in check with the hopeless romantic side of me that sometimes feels mel nourished in my fast paced little world.
The "caretaker" posts real life love stories and readers can then respond via comments to the blog. Along with each post comes a pretty picture - inspirtion in dreary days :)
Spread the love
